We had a play date today with friends from our Moms' Group. We went to the Children's Museum and the kids had fun crawling around, playing with all sorts of toys, and exploring different sensory items. The Children's Museum is such a great, safe place for kids! It was packed today . . . I guess we weren't the only ones with this rainy day activity. The girls had a blast . . . and it was fun for me to catch up on some adult conversation, even though we only talked about kids! And, we even got a good mother/daughter picture. (Could we look any more different from each other?)

Dancing Queen
AJ has started dancing. She has a few toys that play music and as soon as the music starts, she starts to boogie. Now, by boogie, I mean rock her head back and forth, thus causing her whole body to rock. AJ definitely has good moves. Do you think she inherited them from this guy?

AJ . . . Phone Home
AJ has learned that you use the telephone by putting it up to your ear. So, she loves to put the phone up to her ear. She puts her purple play phone to her ear, too. AJ's Dad and I were pretty impressed that she was able to understand that the play phone was a phone. Until, we were out to dinner last night and she put a tortilla to her ear . . . and a spoon . . . and a sippy cup.
Check out some pictures of AJ with her "phones."
Happy Valentine's Day!
We spent our Valentine's Day in Santa Cruz. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, awesome scenery and great food.

It's Official . . . AJ's First Word
AJ's Dad has been telling me for a few weeks that he thinks that AJ has learned her first word. At first, I didn't really believe him. I thought that she was really just making sounds, not really forming them into a word. But, alas, I think I was wrong. What, you ask, is this first word? OUCH! So much for Mama or Dada! You ask her to say, "ouch," and she will say, in all of her cuteness, "uuu-ch." Such sweet sounds! I don't know about you, but I think the "ch" sound is pretty difficult to say . . . she must be gifted. (Don't you agree, my speech therapist friend, Deep in the Heart?)

AJ's Favorite Things
AJ is enjoying the many new toys she has received over that past few months, thanks to her grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.
AJ's cousins have dubbed her "the tower-eating baby" and here she is destroying yet another tower.
AJ's new favorite toy is the toy train that she "walks" all over the house. She is on the move nonstop!
*Yes, AJ is still wearing her Christmas pj's . . . and it is well after Christmas. She looks so darn cute in them!
